Asked

Questions

Renewable Energy and Energy Sources of the World
invest in solar energy - concept

How can I finance the system?

In order to get you the best possible price, our cost of $2.50 per watt is a cash price. If you need to finance the system, our first recommendation would be to look into the RE-UP loans from Nevada Clean Energy Fund. If that’s not the best option, we suggest you obtain your own financing through a credit union. Financing this way avoids the huge markup fees that solar finance companies charge. If lowest monthly payment is most important to you, we can still offer long term loans through solar finance companies, but we want you to be aware of the added up front cost, which could be around 30% of the cash price.

Can I get my utility bill down to zero?

Zero, no. Close to it, yes! If your system is sized properly to your needs and you have enough roof space, than solar can offset your consumption needs 100%. Utility companies usually do have a minimum connection fee though. NV Energy currently has a $20 connection fee.

What happens if I move?

Since you will own your system and not lease it, you can add the value of your system into your own. If there is a balance owed, the system will be paid off upon sale of the home. Because we offer such a great price, the value added to your home would cover the cost of the system.

Will my home value increase if I add solar panels?

If you own the system, Yes! Depending on which source you’re looking at, the value added to your own does go up. Both Zillow and Forbes state a 4% increase in home appraisal.

Do I need batteries?

That really depends on your needs. In order to maintain power when the grid goes down, batter backup would be needed. If you live in an area where the grid is reliable, then really you wouldn’t NEED batteries, unless someone in the household has a medical condition reliant upon power.

How much is the Federal Tax Credit?

Currently you can be eligible for a 30% Federal tax incentive through the year 2032. If you cannot claim the full credit right away, the credit can be rolled over to future tax years. Please seek advice from you tax expert. This applies to homeowner that own the system, not to leases or PPA’s.

Do I need a new roof before installing solar?

Solar systems are designed to last at least 25 years. If your roof is on the older side, then getting your roof replaced before solar is recommended. The good news is that this cost can be added to the additional tax credit benefit. A free assessment of your roof will be conducted before installation.

What size system do I need?

This totally depends on your personal consumption. We can easily calculate the size needed based on your most recent energy bills, and add in any future projections like EV chargers, pool pumps...

How long will my system last?

Most manufacturers offer 25 year warranties, but it is not uncommon for systems to continue to produce 30+ years.

How can I tell if my system is working properly?

Enphase has a free monitoring app that you can view from your phone. It will show the production of every panel on your system.
